The improvement of traffic flow at the A4 Kraków Południe junction, which connects the motorway with DK7, will be possible by increasing the capacity on the motorway junctions from Katowice and Rzeszów towards Zakopane. It is necessary to remove traffic lights and reconstruct the intersection with traffic lights at Taklińskiego and Poronińska Streets. As part of the expansion of the node, the construction of:
- flyovers,
- roundabouts at the intersection of Poronińska and Taklińskiego Streets with ul. Zakopiańska,
- underground pedestrian crossings, retaining walls, noise barriers, service roads, and reconstruction of slipways.
The contract provides 47 months for the development of project documentation and obtaining the necessary decisions and permits to announce the tender. 30 months after obtaining the ZRID decision, it is intended for the development of documentation related to property descriptions and real estate management, of which 5 months is the time for providing answers to contractors who may ask questions during the tender for the implementation of works. The final stage will be supervision during the works, which has been estimated at 25 months.
- Documentation works related to the expansion of the A4 Kraków Południe junction are planned for the years 2021-2024, and the implementation of construction works - for the years 2025-2026.
